The idea is fueled by the provision for faster service.

One day at an Eastern Cape, East London, Oxford Branch. I was printing a three month statement, which would be about 27 pages long. Judging by the long time it takes to print one page (roughly about 15 seconds), I knew that it would bring a lot of frustration to the customers behind me, but there was nothing I could do for them at that point in time. This scenario and the queue behind me got me thinking.

As an IT professional and a Software Developer, I would provide a mechanism that would make use of the faster printers inside the branch where the ATM is located. This function would check if the job is more than a certain number of pages long (which would be decided by the Customer Services Department) and (if the branch is still open) asks the user if they would like to use a faster printer inside for this job. If the user selects yes, the job is sent to the printer and a notification of how to collect the print job with a reference number is printed on the screen or a mini slip is printed for the customer to produce when collecting. While the job is being processed, the customer could be performing another transaction or quit the system allowing other customers to use the ATM. This allows the customer a minimal amount of time standing in front of the ATM waiting for the printing process to take place while others are waiting impatiently.

Even more effectively, another separate and faster Printer could be mounted on a separate space as a separate utility for the same purpose, to avoid the lack of this service and mechanism when the branch is closed.
