Cards should be made from biodegradable materials, such as the biodegradable corn cards Woolworths uses for their gift cards.
And instead of two separate cards, why not combine both Cheque and Credit cards into a single card?
We're already aware that FNB offers banking via the popular MXit real-time chat application. It makes banking faster while maintaining safety (I assume safety because there are many regulations that the service has to first meet).
I think it would be a great idea for Standard Bank to follow suite. Copying the idea is a bit of an over kill, but offering a stand alone cellular application has many benefits:
The idea is fueled by the provision for faster service.
One day at an Eastern Cape, East London, Oxford Branch. I was printing a three month statement, which would be about 27 pages long. Judging by the long time it takes to print one page (roughly about 15 seconds), I knew that it would bring a lot of frustration to the customers behind me, but there was nothing I could do for them at that point in time. This scenario and the queue behind me got me thinking.
I think Standard Bank should have a Panic Pin Code. When you are held up or see someone trying to break into the ATM, you can just put in your card, punch in your Panic Pin Code and then Standard Bank will notify the nearest Police station stating the location of the ATM.
Had an interesting experience. Standard Bank customer was trying to use the autobank machine in a highly affluent area in Johannesburg. She was unable to use the machine because she didn't know what to do - not because of language but because she couldn't read. She had to ask a petrol attendant to help
Idea: Develop a way in which autobank machines can talk to you via your cell phone and help guide you through the process
I am trying to make a payment to a company beneficiary, when I type in the beneficiary reference which is a 5 alphabets (no numbers) i get an error message in red at the top of my screen.
"Invalid beneficiary reference format used. Please confirm the beneficiary reference and the correct format of the reference to use with the Company you are trying to pay/load before trying again."
I can't pay this beneficiary, so I have to go down to the bank and do a physical deposit.
"Moving Forward" and the idea of generating business amongst small to medium business is a great concept. In reality though what SMMEs need is not just an "idea", but a practical means of finding those trade partners and opportunities.
I believe if Standard Bank were to champion an inexpensive 'trade portal' focused on African small businesses, it would then be making a real contribution to putting Africa and African business on the map.
I suggest that you join hands with Gidani so that we will be able to play different lotto games online. I believe every Standard Bank client would be pleased to have the convenience of playing the LOTTO through cellphone and internet banking.
I would like a way in which I can receive my monthly bills e.g. Telkom, Rates and Taxes etc. through my Internet Banking profile and be notified that a new bill has arrived, giving me the ability to automatically pay the bill or authorise the payment via my cellphone.
I really think Standard Bank should provide its Muslim customers a way of investing their money in accordance to the Islamic Shariah law. It would really be convenient for us to invest our money with the same bank that we bank with.
