Truck of Love brings the cheer this festive season

‘Tis the season for a little gift-giving and Standard Bank’s Truck of Love is ready to hit the streets of Gauteng again. For the first time this year the Truck of Love makes its way down to Cape Town to make more dreams come true.

Now in its third year, the Truck of Love is back and eager to be filled with things people need most in a bid to help those individuals or organisations already making a positive contribution to society.

Water, water everywhere but not a drop to drink

As we prepare for yet another Johannesburg thunderstorm -- I love this time of year when the dark clouds provide drama to the purple jacaranda blossoms – it’s sometimes hard to remember that this country is an arid one. For a brief period in Johannesburg each summer we think of rain: downpours; chaos from traffic lights that don’t work; storm water drains over flowing and the inconvenience of a sports match postponed or a braai that moved under the patio.

Africa Palladium ETF unpacked

Standard Bank South Africa’s palladium-backed exchange traded fund (ETF) - named AfricaPalladium ETF has made it possible for retail investors to add another layer to their investment portfolios.

AfricaPalladium ETF invests directly in palladium metal and tracks the rand price of the metal. This allows investors to gain direct exposure to physical palladium via cost effective liquid listed instruments – but without any of the usual risks, costs or requirements of ownership. The metal is held in secure vaults for the benefit of the investors.
